We begin our journey in Paul's first letter to the Corinthian church by looking at chapters 1-4. This section of the letter not only explores the importance for unity in the church and the priority of the cross, but Paul also emphasizes his own apostolic message to set the stage for what he will say in the rest of his letter. What we have learned about the letter so far - and what will be reiterated in the sections still to come - is that Paul is providing ancient solutions to some (not so) ancient problems.
