Mexico Update Building Day 3

Wes Linde Langley Church

image imageimageBuenos noches, what a day!

I really wanted to get some other people blogging but the only time I have wifi is late at night.

The house is nearly completed. Today was very windy and dusty! Bailey, Justin and I finished the chicken coop, people painted the outside, made bunk beds, and we had a bunch of our ladies go shopping for the mom (Fransesca). Albert took on building Fransescas kitchen, and Wylan and Colson reinforced the house to the foundation. I learned more about the family from the Pastor in the area named Trini. Trini told me that the family we are building for are all Christians, but Basileo (the eldest boy) had just accepted Christ recently, and has been saved out of a culture of drugs. Trini has a ministry to teen gang members and drug addicts through creating a community soccer team. He is such an amazing man and I spent a few hours with him today. He also doesn’t speak English.

We had an early dinner and went down to Casa Church in San Quintin. I am sure you will hear awesome stories from team members when they get back. It was already a praise party and then the dancing kicked up a notch when they put on some retro disco lights. Both Canadians and Mexicans were getting quite loco with their Hallelujahs and Amens. Bailey, Colson, Casey and Ben nailed a great worship set, with hands raised and almost every Mexican in the room taking video of them on their phone. The band was quite famoso.

Due to the early dinner we hit a late night taco stand and man, they were amazing!

Tomorrow will be our dedication service and handing over the keys to a locked door! (Her previous door was a blanket, and they had been sleeping (all 7) together on 2 sheets of plywood that took up most of the space in their previous casa.

After dedication Fransesca is cooking the entire team a lunch! Wow, eh? And after that Trini has arranged a competitive soccer game against his soccer team. He hopes that one of us can share the gospel with some of them.

Loads more to tell you about but I’ll leave that up to some photos.

Muchas gracias for reading and we all miss you very much!

Hasta luego,
Wesimage
