Summary of One life at a time

Doris speaks on using our lives for the glory of God.

About the Speaker

Doris spent 12 years on the campus of Trinity Western University; five years in a variety of capacities at Northwest Baptist College and then 7 years at TWU. Her final four years on campus saw her promoted into senior leadership serving as VP of Advancement for her alma mater. Doris joined the leadership team of Opportunity International Canada in 2005. A social entrepreneur, Doris has had the reputation of being a charity broker for the past 22 years. For fourteen years her focus has been on raising the volume and the funding needed to liberate and give hope and life to entrepreneurs and their families in the developing world. Highlights on her journey include serving on the number of several non-profit boards and mentoring next generation leaders. One of the great joys of her life was serving with her husband Ray and helping to plant Sparwood Fellowship Baptist Church and then later serving on the inaugural leadership team at Parkland Fellowship. In 2008 she was the recipient of the Leading Women Award in Business from Next Level Leadership; in 2010 she was a torchbearer in the Vancouver Paralympics; in 2014 she was recognized by The Bridgeway Foundation as one of “100 fantastic Canadian Christian women leaders” and in 2017 it was her delight to co-found the Joyful Living Joyful Giving Foundation with her husband Ray. With a MA in Leadership from TWU focused on servant leadership, it seems fitting that the word UnPoverty is tattooed on her wrist and her heart. Doris has a calling to empower people and to help them become the best version of themselves. Doris believes that we are all blessed to be a blessing and to live life generously. Doris has called SouthRidge home for the past decade.
