OUR PROCESS TO FIND A NEW LEAD PASTOR
In the search to find a new lead pastor, SouthRidge has diligently worked through a process that includes much prayer to ask God to lead us to the right candidate to step into the role of Lead Pastor for SouthRidge.
The process began in the fall of 2024 when Pastor Brent announced his resignation. At that time a Succession Team was formed to work through resumes for a new Lead Pastor. In January the team did some interviews and then prayerfully narrowed it down to one candidate. The candidate was put forward to the Board who also did a rigorous interview process. They unanimously voted to move the candidate forward to the congregation.
Next Steps
Once the candidate was announced to the congregation he was asked to preach a special message on March 16. Next, there will be a Town Hall Meeting and then a special Partner's Meeting where we will do a final vote.
OUR CANDIDATE
Greg Harris
Greg came to SouthRidge in the fall of 2022 to begin serving as our Discipleship Pastor. Prior to coming to SouthRidge Greg worked as a Teaching Associate Pastor, Discipleship Pastor, and Campus Pastor from 2014–2022. Greg’s undergraduate training happened at Columbia Bible College, and he received his MDiv from Northwest Baptist Seminary. He is married to Sarah, and they have three children (Benjamin, Emily, and Oliver). Greg is passionate about seeing people encounter Jesus in and through the local church, and ensuring that each person in the local church can thrive in their discipleship to Jesus.
Message
Greg was asked to preach a special message to the congregation once it had been announced that he was the candidate for the Lead Pastor role. He preached this message on March 16, 2025

We will be holding a Town Hall meeting on March 30 at 7pm. This is your opportunity to ask Greg and Sarah questions and to learn more about them. All are welcome to attend

On April 6 there will be an extraordinary Partners Meeting where we will be voting on accepting Greg as the new Lead Pastor. All are welcome to attend however only partners can vote. There will be an option to join online but you will need to be in person to vote.
