The house is done! We are so thankful for an awesome team that is unified and excited to serve these people in the name of Jesus! Here is a quick recap, and I got Antonio (Anthony Cook) to write as well.

The last few things were done this morning, I was able to plant an avocado tree and an orange tree, and the wife of the Congressman came to the house, as well as the some other Mexican officials. They dropped off a fridge and stove/oven that they donated for free to our family we built for. The dedication ceremony went well and the family fed our whole team and a few extra people! It was delicioso!

After lunch we played a soccer match against the Mexican teens, yes, Team Mexico verses Team Canada. We had a lot of fun with that!! For the record, Canada won 3-2 and I had the winning goal, but who’s keeping score anyway. ?
Pastor Trini and I said farewell and committed to praying for each other. Please pray for him as he reaches the Mexican teens in his neighbourhood that are addicted to Crystal Meth and Marijuana. Pray that more will receive Jesus and seek a better life through his ministry.

Tonight we had a sharing, worship and prayer time and finalized some plans for donations. Tomorrow we are touring a women’s transition house, visiting the family one more time and enjoying a well deserved team dinner at Don Diego’s restaurante.

One full day left and already I am feeling pressure from the team to start plans for the next trip. For now though, we will continue to pray for our new amigos, the hours we shared and cherish our warmed hearts. We love the people we served, fed, played with, and they reciprocated the love.

Until Tomorrow,
Wes

Hey there everyone in Internet land, it’s Antonio here and I wanted to tell you a few stories about my day here in Mexico.
So today was the 4th day of building and playing with the wonderful kids here! It was so amazing! Today I worked with Albert in the kitchen which was a great experience!

After a while I decided to go play with the kids a bit more as the day before I worked on the house mostly. I ended up giving lots of capoochi’s and this one kid named Esaeas decided to be a tyrant on my shoulders and screamed at me and hit me with a balloon for about 45 minutes going from one area to another area, and continued all over again!
When we were all done the house, the house was dedicated to the family and the keys were handed over to the mother. It was such an amazing moment. A couple days ago we were random new comers going to build a house for her and her family, by the end of today I feel we were all more connected then at the start.
Then came the big soccer game of Canadians vs. Mexicans! It was a close game of lots of running, dirt, sweat and sweets, and in the end, the Canadians won 3-2.
I will NEVER forget this amazing trip and look forward to the moment I can sign up to come right back and do it all over again!
Capoochi’s!!!!!
